A) Seated Roll – Player 1 holds ball and sits in a straddle position on the corner of 2 lines that forms a 90 degree angle, a leg on each line. The serve initiates the beginning of play in volleyball and there are three key ingredients to become successful. First, you must serve in the court to win. Secondly, you must develop the skill to serve to different area in the court. Blocking is the first line of defense. There are three ways in which the block is considered successful. The first is to stuff the attack to the floor on the opponent’s side of the net or not allow the ball to cross over the net. Second, deflect the attacked ball up into the air to facilitate digging. Finally, the block can be positioned to take away a specified area of the court channeling the ball to positioned diggers.
